Lovers Moon

In CAYA, we celebrate the May full moon as the Lovers Moon. As you gaze into the brilliant light of the Moon tonight, I invite you to think on and extend your Moon magick with these workings and thoughts.

Some Questions

What cultural stories are you carrying about pleasure? About sex? How and when do you transmit these stories? What are you passionate about? What keeps your intimate relationships thriving?

Pleasure Bath

Grab an essential oil or several complementary scents, that smell indulgent to you. Light a few candles in the bathroom and turn off the lights.

Before you get to the bath, take a shower. Wash off all the grime that’s accumulated. Visualize the water moving through your aura, washing away any stress, pain, tension, depression, or psychic gunk.

Once you are clean, step out of the shower and run a hot bath. Add a few drops of essential oil. Step into the bath and sink into it. Run a washcloth slowly over your skin, repeating:

“I am deserving of pleasure.”

Once you’ve finished washing, lie back and rest. When you feel like pleasure has sunk all the way into your skin and deep into your soul, wait a little longer to get out. Be gentle with yourself as you get lights and clothes back on. You may need extra time. Take it.

Spell for Keeping Love Alive

You will need a heart-shaped candle, a knife, and the consent of your beloved(s) for this working. With the knife, carve the name(s) of your beloved(s) into the top of the candle.

If you work with a love god/dess, now is a good time to invoke them. Personally, I work with Aphrodite.

“O you who are Beauty and Love

Who stun eyes and heart alike

And fill me with amazement

At your glory

Come lend yourself to this working

That I and my beloveds

May be filled with your grace.”

Light the candle. Feel the tenderness, passion, joy, and more that your beloved(s) bring you.

“You who shine bright in my heart

Long be the time ‘ere our love departs

May I tend the flame that grows between us

May our love deepen and may it warm us.”

Let the candle burn until the name(s) are melted. Extinguish the candle and thank any deities you’ve called in for their blessing. Light the candle again whenever you feel the need to rejuvenate your love.
