Grateful Moon

I’m going to be away next weekend, when the moon is actually full. So here, have some early moon magick! This month, CAYA celebrates the Grateful Moon.

Some Questions

How do you manifest your gratitude? When do you remember to be grateful? How can you increase awareness of gratitude? What fills your heart?

Grateful Beans

With much love to CAYA’s Aspirant class of 2014, to whom this spell owes its existence.

Before preparing a bean dish, divide the beans. They can be divided into three groups, for the 3 nights of the full moon, or 14 to do this working from the new moon to the full moon. For extra mojo, divide the beans again between a group of magical people who will be coming together to eat this dish.

Each night, move beans from one bowl to another as you say things you are grateful for. Depending on the amount of beans, you may move anywhere from a single bean to a cup for each thing you are grateful for. At the end of the working, your starting bowl should be empty and your Grateful Bowl will be full of grateful beans!

Cook up the planned meal, knowing that gratitude is cooked right into your food.

Simple Prayer of Thanks for Food

“I give thanks

To the hands that made

And the life that gave

Of itself that I might eat

Blessed be.”
